Offiong Media

Ukeme Offiong is an Honor Graduate of Hampton University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Pre-Law in May 2026. A journalist, media professional, and aspiring attorney from Fort Worth, Texas, she is passionate about strategic storytelling, public affairs, and the intersection of communications and law.

During her time at Hampton University’s Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications, Ukeme produced her own original content series in partnership with Chevrolet, showcasing her creativity and multimedia storytelling skills across digital platforms.

In 2025, she was selected as a Discover the Unexpected Fellow, where she worked with her NNPA publisher, The Dallas Examiner. In this role, she reported on community news, wrote multiple published articles, and helped produce the publication’s weekly social media content.

Ukeme also worked with Hampton University Media Productions, gaining hands-on experience in live sports broadcasting. She served in a variety of production roles, including director, technical director (switcher operator), camera operator, production coordinator, and on-air talent assistant during FloSports broadcasts of Hampton University athletic events.

During the summer of 2026, Ukeme had the opportunity to serve as a Summer District Intern for Virginia State Senator Mamie E. Locke, where she gained firsthand experience in legislative operations, constituent services, and public policy.

Her professional interests include crisis communications, legal communications, public affairs, strategic communications, and journalism. She plans to continue building experience in these fields before pursuing a Juris Doctor degree.

Ukeme’s skill set includes news writing, photography, videography, video editing, social media management, event planning, website design, and multimedia content production.

Her achievements include receiving a $10,000 scholarship from the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA), earning a scholarship from the Washington Media Scholars Foundation, and advancing as a semifinalist in the Washington Media Case Competition alongside her partner.
