Ukeme Offiong is a graduating senior journalism major with a concentration in pre-law from Fort Worth, Texas. During her time at Hampton University’s SCRIPPS Howard School of Journalism and Communication, Ukeme has self-produced her own content series with Chevrolet.
She was a 2025 Discover the Unexpected Fellow and worked with her NNPA Publisher, The Dallas Examiner, where she wrote multiple articles and helped create a weekly social media update.
Ukeme currently works with Hampton University Media Productions. She had the opportunity to direct, use the switcher, coordinate, help Flo Sports’ on-air talent, and use a camera to shoot during games at Hampton University.
Upon graduation from Hampton University, Ukeme is interested in opportunities working in crisis communications, legal, or journalism before matriculating to law school.
Ukeme is proficient in writing, photography, videography, video-editing, event planning, social media, and website designing.
She has won a $10,000 scholarship from the NNPA and a scholarship from the Washington Media Foundation. Ukeme was a semifinalist, along with her partner, in the Washington Media Case Competition.
